The Remote Control is not Working

As with these sorts of issues, the most common issue has a simple solution, the motor unit will likely have been unplugged. Start by checking the outlet where the door opener is plugged in, and make sure the cord is totally plugged in.

Garage Door Reverses After Touching the Floor

If the garage door quickly leaps upward after touching the ground, this will be a close-limit switch problem. Adjust the close-limit adjustment screw on the door opener motor in small increments until the door stops on touching the floor.

Garage Door Does Not Open all the way

When the garage door does open correctly but stops before it is completely open, the cause is most likely that the up-limit switch may need to be moved toward the motor unit. This switch is often a simple touch-lever mounted on the end of the track close to the motor unit, and if it is too far from it, the motor will stop the door before it opens completely. The best thing to do is to move the switch closer to the motor unit.

Garage Door will not Open During Winter

In some cases, a garage door will lower successfully but then fail to open, often during winter. If this happens, seek out a screw on the motor unit to adjust the sensitivity of the opener. Particularly in winter, when rollers sometimes become stiff, the door opener might cease to open. Lubricating rollers really help with this problem. Methods for adjusting sensitivity may vary; so you may need to refer to your owner’s manual for further direction.
